1 5~/ _ ;) A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING UNDERTAKING OF SURVEYS AND PLANS FOR AN URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT AND FILING AN APPLICATION. I WHEREAS, under Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, as amended (herein referred to as "Title I"), Secretary, Department of Housing and Urban Development is authorized to extend financial assistance to local public agencies in the elimination and prevention of the spread of their slums and urban blight through the planning and undertaking of urban renewal projects; and WHEREAS, it is desirable and in the public interest that the City of San Marcos make surveys and prepare plans, presently estimated to cost approximately one hundred forty thousand dollars ($140,000.00), in order to undertake and carry out an urban renewal project of the character contemplated by Section 11 0 (c) in the City of San Marcos, County of Hays, and State of Texas, which is described as follows: BEGINNING at a point, said point being the southea st corner of the intersection of Colorado Street and Moon Drive; said point also being the Northwest corner of Lot 5, Block 21, Original Town; and, THENCE, in a Northerly direction crossing Colorado Street to a point in the North right-of-way line of Colorado Street to the Southwest corner of F. L. 24 (u. S. Fish Hatchery Property); and, I THENCE, along the North right-of-way line of Colorado Street in an Ea sterly dIrection to the intersect ion of the said right-of-way with the right-of-way of Water Street (being an angle point in F. L. 24); and, THENCE, along the Northwest right-of-way line of Water Street in a Northeasterly direction a distance of 265 feet more or less to a point; and, THENCE, in an Easterly direction crossing Water Street and along the Northern boundary line of a parcel of land belonging to the City of San Marcos, as recorded in Vol. 193 pp. 211-216, Hays County Deed Records, to the center line of the San Marcos River; and, THENCE, along the center line of the San Marcos River in a Southerly direction, passing on the West side of an island opposite Riverview Estates, to the intersection of said center line with the South right-of-way line of the MKT Railroad; and, THENCE, along the South right-of-way line oI the MKT Railroad in an Easterly direction to a point, said point being the intersection of the prolongation of the West line of Block 5 of the Rio Vista SubdivIsion with the South right-of-way line of the MKT Railroad; and, I THENCE, along the West line of Blocks 5 and 4 in a Southerly direction to the intersection of said lihe with the Northerly right-of-way line of Cheatham Street; and,
