Mr. <br />Bean exhibited the plans in explanation. The matter <br />was discussed. Dr. Craddock moved approval of the <br />change in plans. Mr. Damon seconded the motion and <br />on roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AYE; Craddock, Damon, Flores, Korff, Serur, <br />Whittenberg <br /> <br />NAY; None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />The'Mayor asked Counc i I approva I of his reappo i ntment of <br />Dr. Ni Ion Tallant as City Health Officer. Mr. Korff moved <br />that Dr. Tallant be reappointedCi~y Health Officer. Mr. <br />Flores seconded the motion and On rol I ~al I, the fol lowing <br />vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE; <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Craddock, Damon, Flores, Korff, Serur, Whittenberg <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion passed. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock rem i nded the Counc i I that a. de l.egat i on of <br />citizens had visited am~eting of the City Counci I in the <br />Spring to ask for better traffic control on Holland Street. <br />It was brought out at that time that only the south side of <br />Holland Street is in the City Limits, ,the north side being <br />outs i de the'. City. I t was agreed that the north side of <br />Holland Street should be annexed. Dr. Craddo~k moved that <br />the north side of Holland Street be annexed. Mr. Korff said <br />the north side of Hal land Street was included in the uni lat- <br />eral annexation being planned by the Planning & Zoning Com- <br />mission. Dr. Craddock withdrew her motion. Mr. Bean said <br />he would check into the matter, and prepare an ordinance, if <br />necessary. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Dr. Craddock said Dr. Hinton of the Planning & Zoning Com- <br />mission had suggested the Council appoint a committee of <br />thirty citizens to cooperate with the Counci I on City affairs, <br />and she felt it would be advantageous to name such a committee. <br />Mr. Damon said a Citizens Advisory Committee is already in <br />existence. The matter was di'scusse'd; no action' was taken. <br />Dr. Craddock proposed that the Counc il ca II a Pub I i c Hear i ng <br />on the City Sales Tax. The Mayor commented that such a meeting <br />had had good results in Taylor. Dr. Craddock moved that a <br />committee of five to fifteen persons be appointed to work with <br />the Mayor and Counci I to arrange a Public Hearing on the Sales <br />Tax. She added that the committee should make certain that all <br />factions were included. Mr. Damon seconded the motion. The <br />proper function of the committee was- discus~ed.
