Gayton, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant Gayton honorably served his country for fourteen <br /> <br />years as a United States Marine, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Staff Sergeant Gayton was upholding the principles of Duty, <br />Honor and Country in South Vietnam, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, we extend our condolences to his family and loved ones in this <br /> <br />time of sorrow; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of San Marcos, Texas, <br /> <br />that Tuesday, September 26, 1967, be a day of mourning for San Marcos <br />and we ask all our citizens to join us for a moment of silent prayer in <br />remembrance of the supreme sacrifice of Staff Sergeant Edward R.
