Rader, Kenneth Weatherford <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by the Mayor. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Rev John Salvador, Ca~pus Chaplain on the staff of <br />St. John's Church, read a~oem by the Rev. Michel Quoist for <br />the Invocation. <br /> <br />The Mayor read aloud a recommendation. from the Sales Tax Study <br />Committee, ~ttached here as a par~ of the Min~tes. C~unci Iman <br />Korff moved that a date be set for a referendum on the Sales Tax. <br />Counci Iman Priol s~condedthe motion. W.W. "Bill" Cox, Executive <br />Director of ~he Chamber of Commerce, was recognized by the Mayor. <br />He read a reso I ut i on passed by ~he Board of Directors of the <br />Chamber of Commerc~, at..a special meeting. The. resolution, <br />urging the Counci I to ~aJI a~ election on the City Sales Tax, <br />is attached as a part ~f the Minutes. ,After discussion, the <br />question being cal'ecl for, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Craddock, [)amon, Flores, Korff, Pool, Serur" Whittenberg <br />NAY: None ' <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor recommended Tuesday, Nov. 14 as a favorable date for <br />the election. Mr. Damon suggested Nov. 9 as a possible date. <br />After discussion, it was agreed the election would be held on <br />Nov. 14. The Mayor read aloud an ordinance calling a Sales Tax <br />Election on Nov. 14, 1967. Dr.. Pool moved adoption of the Ordinance. <br />Mr '.
