Rader
applied for service to Tanglewood #2. Under the agreement
made with Mr. Rader, water and sewer extension to the sub-
division was estimated at $9,100; inside the subdivision,
$4,400, totaling $13,500. Mr. Rader agreed to pay $9,600
of this cost, leavi~g the City's estimated cost at $3,900.
Under the pol@cy adopted Sept. 25, the City would have
agreed tQpay one-half the 'cost, which would figure an
estimated cost of $2,200 to Mr. Rader, and an estimated
cost of $1 1,300 ~o the City. The matter was discussed at
length, with Mr. Rader answering questions on detai Is of
his plans. Mr. Whittenberg moved that the Counci I make
the new Water aod Sewer Policy retroactive to apply to
Tang I ewood #2,. Or. . Craddock seconded the mot i on. Mr. Korff
brought up the necessity of hBving a "cut-off" date for
applying the policy retroactively, since others might demand
the same treatment. Mr. Whittenberg reminded the Council that
H.Garland Stokes had suggested that Mr. Rader be given the
benefit of the new policy, when the Resolution on City partici-
pation was passed, Sept. 25, and that the Counci I seemed agree-
able at that time. The question of a Cut-off date Was intro-
duced again. Mr. Whittenberg changed his motion to read:
"That the Council make the new water and sewer extension policy
retroactive to in~lude Tanglewood #2, only". This being accept-
able, and the question being called fo~he following vote was
recorded:

AYE:
NAY:

Craddock, Damon, Flores, Korff, Pool, Serur, Whittenberg
None

The Mayor declared the motion carried.

I

The City Manager reported that Southwest Texas State College
had requested additional street lights on Olmos Drive, because
of heavy pedestrian traffic after football games. Mr. Whitten-
berg moved that the Counci I authoriz~ three or four additional
street lights on Olmos. Mr. Damon seconded the motion. Mr. Flores
said there were other streets in San Marcos that badty needed
lighting, and perhaps if the cost was not too great, the Counci I
should consider installation of lights. Mr. Bean said he had
asked LCRA to make a survey of the City's street light needs.
Mr. Whittenberg said there were no street lights whatever on
Mimosa Drive. On roll call, the fol lowing vote was recorded:

AYE: Craddock, Damon, Flores, Korff, Pool, Serur, Whittenberg
NAY: None

The Mayor declared the motion carried.
