<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />presentation and surrender of bond or proper coupon at The American <br />National Bank of Austin, Austin, Texas, without exchange or collection <br />charges to the owner or holder hereof, and the City"of San Marcos, <br />Texas, is hereby held and firmly bound, and its faith and credit and <br />all real and personal property in said City are hereby pledged for <br />the prompt payment of the principal of this bond and the interest <br />thereon at maturity. <br />This bond is one of a series of 40 bonds, numbered consecutively <br />from l"to 40, inclusive, of the denomination of Five Thousand <br />Dollars ($5,000.00) each, aggregating Two Hundred Thousand Dollars <br />($200,000.00), of which the ~um of $35,000.00 is for the purpose of <br />construeting street improvements in said City, including the purchase <br />and installation of a synchronized traffic signal lightl system and <br />necessary curb and sidewalk installation, and the sum of $165,000.00 <br />is for the purpose of constructing and equipping a public building <br />to be used as a fire station in said City; issued by the City of <br />San Marcos, Texas, under and by virtue of the Constitution and laws <br />of the State of Texas, the Charter of said City, and in pursuance of <br />an ordinance passed by the City Council of said City, which <br />ordinance is of record in the Minutes of said City Council. <br />The date of this bond, in conformity with the ordinance above <br />mentioned, is January 1, 1968. <br />IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED AND RECITED that the issuance of this <br />bond, and the series of which it is a part, is duly authorized by <br />law and by a vote of the qualified property taxpaying voters of <br />the City of San Marcos, who owned taxable property in said City <br />and who had duly rendered the same for taxation, voting at an elec- <br />tion held for that purpose -within said City on September 27, 1966; <br />that all acts, conditions and things required to be done precedent <br />to and in the issuance of this series of bonds, and of this bond, <br />have been properly done and performed and have happened in regular <br />and due time, form and manner as required by the Constitution and <br />laws of the State of Texas, the Charter of said City, and the <br /> <br />~ <br />
