Johnson Drive. The Mayor reported on a matter discussed at an executive sess i on of the Cou nc i I ,December 19, 1967. Mr. Korff moved that City Manager Richard G. Bean be given an increase ~n salary of $100 per month, effective January I, 1968. Mr. Serur stated the Counc i 1 had i nc.reased Mr . Bean 's sa 1 arY as a token of appreciation for his fine work since assuming his post, August 7. I The Mayor said the Business and Professional Women's Club had requested that the City Counci I postpone their January 22 meeting, in order to allow Councilmen to attend their Annual Civic Awards Banquet. Mr. Korff moved that the Counci I meet on Tuesday, January 23, instead of Monday, January 22, 1968. Mr. Damon seconded the motion and on roll call, the fol lowing vote was recorded: AYE: NAY: Craddock, Damon, Flores, Korff, Pool, Serur None The Mayor declared the motion carried. Mr. Serur read aloud a letter from Jack Harper, member of the Housing Authority Board, ~equesting.that J.O~ "Buck" Paine be appointed to fill the unexpired term of the late Allen Woods. The Mayor paid tribute to the I. ate Allen Woods, who had served for many years as Member and Chairman of the Housing Authority Board. Mr. Korff moved that a letter of appreciation and con- dolence carrying the signatures of all the Counci Imen be sent to Mrs. Woods.
