Dr. Pool moved adoption of the Ordinance on first <br />reading. Mr. Korff seconded the motion and on rol I cal I. the <br />fol lowing vote was recorded: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Damon, Flores, Korff, Pool, Serur <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed on first reading. <br /> <br />An Ordinance annexing two parcels of land on North Lyndon B. <br />Johnson Drive was introduced. Counci Iman Damon moved adoption <br />of the Ordinance on first reading. Counci Iman Flores seconded <br />the motion and on rol I cal I, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE; <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Damon, Flores, Korff. Pool, Serur <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried and the Ordinance Passed <br />on first reading. <br /> <br />Kenneth Finch of Ernst & Ernst presented a nine-months audit report. <br />Copies of the Audit were distributed for study. Mr. Finch reported <br />"the financial condition of the City much improved." <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The matter of awarding a contract for collection of delinquent <br />taxes, deferred from the previous meeting, was introduced. <br />George Reed, Tax Assessor-Collector, was present, and a general <br />discussion on tax collection ensued. Mr. Reed cal led to the <br />attention of the Counci I that, under the new Charter, penalty on <br />del inquent taxes would be higher. He read from Section 10.05 of <br />the Charter. Mr. Reed recommended that the City enter into a <br />contract for collection of delinquent taxes with Gates Steen. <br />Dr. Pool moved that the Mayor be authorized to execute a contract <br />for collection of delinquent taxes with Gates Steen.
