Whittenberg Visitors: Mrs. Tom Brasher, Mrs. Hazel Duncan, Kenneth Finch, Nancy Kreczmer, John Kreczmer, George Reed, Jerri Veidt, Kenneth Compton. John Smith, Brad Moody The Mayor cal led the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. An Ordinance annexing Lots I thru 6, Spring Lake Estates(Unit 6) was introduced. Dr. Pool moved adoption of the Ordinance on first reading. Mr. Korff seconded the motion and on rol I cal I. the fol lowing vote was recorded: I AYE: NAY: Damon, Flores, Korff, Pool, Serur None The Mayor declared the Ordinance Passed on first reading. An Ordinance annexing two parcels of land on North Lyndon B. Johnson Drive was introduced. Counci Iman Damon moved adoption of the Ordinance on first reading. Counci Iman Flores seconded the motion and on rol I cal I, the following vote was recorded: AYE; NAY: Damon, Flores, Korff. Pool, Serur None The Mayor declared the motion carried and the Ordinance Passed on first reading. Kenneth Finch of Ernst & Ernst presented a nine-months audit report. Copies of the Audit were distributed for study. Mr. Finch reported "the financial condition of the City much improved." I The matter of awarding a contract for collection of delinquent taxes, deferred from the previous meeting, was introduced. George Reed, Tax Assessor-Collector, was present, and a general discussion on tax collection ensued. Mr. Reed cal led to the attention of the Counci I that, under the new Charter, penalty on del inquent taxes would be higher. He read from Section 10.05 of the Charter. Mr. Reed recommended that the City enter into a contract for collection of delinquent taxes with Gates Steen. Dr. Pool moved that the Mayor be authorized to execute a contract for collection of delinquent taxes with Gates Steen. Mr. Damon seconded the motion and on rol I cal I, the fol lowing vote was recorded: AYE: NAY: Damon, Flores, Korff, Pool, Serur None The Mayor declared the motion carried.
