<br />AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING CERTAIN TERRITORY
<br />ADJOINING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF
<br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, I NTO SA I D CITY
<br />

<br />WHEREAS, the owner of a strip of land, said strip of land
<br />not exceeding one-half (~) mi Ie in width, being contiguous
<br />and adjacent to the preseAt residents, qualified to vote
<br />for members of the State Legislature, has petitioned the
<br />City of San Marcos to annex said strip of land within its
<br />municipal limits, a copy of said petition being hereto
<br />attached, maked "Exhibit A", and made a part hereof for
<br />all pertinent purposes; and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, it wi II be of signal advantage to the City of
<br />San Marcos to annex said strip of land within its munici-
<br />pal limits:

<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the
<br />City of San Marcos, Texas, that the said strip of land,
<br />hereinafter described by metes and bounds, be and the 'same
<br />is hereby received as a part of the City of San Marcos, and
<br />the corporate limits of the City of San Marcos are hereby
<br />extended so as to include said strip of land, and from hence-
<br />forth the territory so received and annexed shall be a part
<br />of the City of San Marcos, and shall be bound by the acts
<br />and ordinances of said City in accordance with Jaw.

<br />SAID STRIP OF LAND is described as:

<br />PARCEL II. BEGINNING at an iron pipe set for the East
<br />corner of this tract, Same being the North corner of the
<br />F.C. Harrel I Tract, described in deed from C.R. Kidd to
<br />F.C. Harrell, recorded in Vol. 150, page 314, Hays County
<br />Deed Records, also being a point in the Northwest line of
<br />Austin Street (now Lyndon B. Johnson Drive), ana lying on
<br />the present corporate limits line of San Marcos, Hays
<br />County, Texas;
<br />THENCE, N. 45 degrees W. 84.4 feet to an iron pipe set for
<br />the North corner of this tract;
<br />THENCE, S. 45 degrees, 35 minutes W. 160 feet to an iron
<br />pipe set for the West corner of this tract;
<br />THENCE, S. 45 degrees E. 84.4 feet to an iron pipe set for
<br />the South corner of this tract;
<br />THENCE, N. 45 degrees, 35 minutes E. 160 feet to the PLACE
<br />OF BEGINNING; and

<br />PARCEL I, BEGINNING at an old iron pIpe for the West
<br />corner of a one-half (!) acre tract of land, conveyed
<br />by deed dated June 12,1944, from William N. Farris, et aI,
<br />to C.R. Kidd, recorded in Vol. 130, pages 175-176, Hays
<br />County Deed Records;
<br />THENCE, N. 45 degrees E. 212,2 feet along the Northwest
<br />line of said one-half (!) acre tract to an iron pipe for
<br />corner;
<br />THENCE, S, 45 degrees E. 84.4 feet to an iron pipe for
<br />corner;
<br />THENCE, S. 45 degrees W. 212.2 feet to an old iron pipe
<br />found on the ground;
<br />THENCE, N. 45 degrees W. 84.4 feet to the pLACE OF BEGINNING,
