<br />regular meeting, april 8, 1968 <br /> <br />page two <br /> <br />The Mayor read aloud a Resolution expressing appreciation <br />to Caesar A. Damon for his three years as a member of the <br />City Council. Dr. Craddock moved approval of the Resolut- <br />ion. Mr. Flores seconded the motion and on roll call, the <br />following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br /> <br />Craddock, Zavesky, Flores, Serur, Smith, <br />Pool, Dannelley <br /> <br />NAY: <br /> <br />!'Jone <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Resolution Passed and Approved. <br />Mr. Serur extended his own thanks to Mr. Damon as he <br />gave him a copy of the Resolution. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced a Resolution of appreciation to <br />Mr. Korff for his term on the Council. Dr. Craddock <br />moved approval of the Resolution. Dr. Pool seconded the <br />motion and on roll call, the following vote Was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Craddock, Zavesky, Flores, Serur, Smith, <br />Pool, Dannelley <br /> <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Resolution Passed and Approved. <br />Mr. Serur extended his own thanks to Mr. Korff as he <br />gave him a copy of the Resolution. <br /> <br />Both Resolutions are made a part of the Minutes. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced as the next order of business, the <br />election of a Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem for the coming year. <br />Dr. Craddock moved that Ellis Serur be named Mayor. <br />Mr. Zavesky seconded the motion and on roll call, the <br />following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Craddock, Zavesky, Flores, Smith, Pool, Dannelley <br />None <br />Serur <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Dannelley moved that Dr. Pool be named Mayor Pro Tem. <br />Dr. Craddock seconded the motion and on roll call, the <br />following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br /> <br />Craddock, Zavesky, Flores, Serur, Smith, <br />Dannelley <br /> <br />NAY: <br />Abstain: <br /> <br />None <br />Pool <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> <br />Dr. Pool enquired whether any progre~s had been made in <br />getting the MK&T Railroad officials to install warning <br />si~nals at the Riverside Drive crossing. He said he had <br />had a call about it, Saturday night, after a near accident <br />there. The City Manager was requested to write railroad <br />officials about the matte~, again. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Gene Rourke of Ranson & Co., the City's fiscal agent~, came <br />before the Council. He reviewed briefly, for the benefit of <br />new Councilmen, the background of Penzoil's'purchase of United <br />Gas Co., and the possibility of the City's purchase of the <br />local distribution system. "Our opinion is that the Gas Co. <br />would be a good investment for the City of San Marcos", he said. <br />Dr. Craddock moved that the City Manager write Penzoil again, <br />stating the City's interest in purchase of the local syste~. <br />Mr. Smith seconded the motion and on roll call, the followlng <br />vote was recorded: <br />
