II), regular meeting, june 24, 1968 page two The Mayor read a letter from the Holy Name Society of St. JohnIs Chu~ch, requesting a franchise to sell snow cones in City Park during the summer months. Dr. Craddock moved that the request be forwarded to the Parks and Recreation Board for a recommendation. She included in the motion a request that , if the deci.ion was favorable, the~ Board set up guidelines for operation of the project. Councilman Zavesky seconded the motion. Dr. Pool said he did not think the Council should delay in making a decision, I and should not "pass the buck" to the Board. Dr. Craddock said she understood there had been some problems the previous summer, when the Children of Mary were given the franchise. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: NAY: Craddock, Dannelley, Flores, Smith, Serur, Zavesky Pool The Mayor declared the motion carried. The Mayor opened discussion .'on t.he appointment of a Charter Review Commission. Dr; Pool moved approval of a slate offer- ed by Dr. Craddock: *he Rev. C. Eugene Jennings, Dr. Richard Henderson, Dr. Howard Tidwell, Mrs. Tom Brasher and Laurens B. Fish, jr. Mr. Flores sec.onded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mr. Dannelley proposed that the Council and Urban Renewal Board have a joint meeting to discuss the Urban Renewal Plan.
