SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, SEPTEMBER 18,1968 Present: Mayor Ellis Serur Councilmen: Ronald J. Dannelley Luciano H. Flores Jerry Zavesky I City Manager City Secretary Richard G. Bean Dorothy O. Worrell Absent: Councilmen: Emmie Craddock, Ph.D. Hollis W. Smith William C. Pool, Ph.D. Visitors: James R. Cole, Joe Koresche, Jack Major, Jerri Veidt, Ted Breihan and some twenty- five representatives of bidding firms; Frank Buie, Department of Housing and Urban Development representative I The Mayor called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. He announced the purpose of the meeting as the public opening of bids on the Waste Water Treatment Plant to be constructed by the City of San Marcos. Mr. Serur introduced James ~. Cole and Joe Kroesche of Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc., the City's engineers, and asked Mr. Cole to open the bids. A tabulation of the bids is attached and made a part of the Minutes. At the conclusion of the opening and reading of the nine bids submitted, Mr. Cole said he would report back to the Council at the earliest possible time, and make a recommendation for accept- ance of the lowest bid meeting specifications. The Mayor thanked all those who had submitted bids, and said an announcement of the winning bid would be made as soon as the bid was awarded. .
