Dannelley <br />Luciano H. Flores <br />William C. Pool, Ph.D. <br />Hollis W. Smith <br />Jerry Zavesky <br /> <br />City Manager <br />City Secretary <br /> <br />Richard G. Bean <br />Dorothy O. Worrell <br /> <br />Visitors: <br /> <br />Charlotte Crisp and Kenneth Cumpton <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />The Minutes of the meetings of October 14 and 22, 1968, were <br />approved as presented, on motion of Councilman Zavesky and <br />second of Councilman Smith. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced W.H. Humphreys, Resident Project Engineer, <br />U.S. Corps of Engineers, of Canyon Dam Reservoir. Mr. Humphreys <br />had come at the invitation of the Council to discuss the procedure <br />by which the City would accept the Corps' offer to take IDver the <br />Potters Creek Area of Canyon Lake Park as a municipal recreation <br />park. The discussion centered on the financial obligation in <br />maintaining the area. Mr. Humphreys stated the Potters Creek <br />Area is presently costing the Corps about $10,000 annually for <br />cleaning, mowing and maintenance. He suggested San Marcos <br />might make application for half the area, and, if it proved <br />feasible, financially, the City could then make application for <br />the remainde~ of Potters Creek Area. On motion of Dr. Craddock <br />and second of Councilman Smith, it was agreed by common consent <br />of the Council to take the matter under further consideration <br />before making a decision. The Mayor thanked Mr. Humphreys for <br />his concise information and advice. <br /> <br />The Mayor appointed Dr. Pool, Mr. Zavesky and himself to serve <br />on a committee to assist the Hays County Historical Survey <br />Committee in securing a museum for San Marcos and Hays County. <br /> <br />The Mayor read aloud a letter from J. E. Younger, j r., Chairman <br />of the Planning & Zoning Commission, recommending that the Council <br />approve a change of zoning on a lot located at 810 San Antonio Street. <br />A plat of the area was examined. Dr. Pool moved that the zoning <br />of Lot 8, Edward J.L, Green Addition, be changed from "R-1" <br />(residential single family) to R-~ (duplex). Councilman Smith <br />seconded the motion and on roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Craddock, Dannelley, Flores, Pool, Serur, Smith, Zavesky <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried. <br />
