if AN ORDINANCE SETTING A DATE, TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY BY THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR TO PUBLISH NOTICE OF SUCH PUBLIC HEARING; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: I SECTION 1. On the 28th day of January , 1969 , at 2: 30 0' c.lo<ek in the Coun<eil Chamber of the City Hall of the City of San Mar<eos, Texas the City Council will hold a public hearing giving all interested persons the right to appear and be heard on the proposed annexation by the City of San Marcos, Texas of the following described property, to wit: SEE "EXHIBIT An SECTION 2. The Mayor of the City of San Marcos is hereby authorized and dire<eted to cause noti<ee of such public hearing to be published once in a newspaper having general circulation in the city and in the above de- scribed territory not more than twenty days nor less than ten days prior to the date of such public hearing, all in accordance with the Municipal Annexation Act (Chapter 160, Acts of the 58th Legislature, Regular Ses- sion, 1963; <eompliled as 970a, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes). SECTION 3. The importance of this ordinan<ee creates an emergen<ey and an imperative public ne<eessity that the rule requiring ordinan<ees be read at three several meetings be suspended, and this rule is hereby suspended, and the ordinance shall take effect and be in for<ee from and after its a- doption.
