<br />ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APRIL 2, 1969 <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />Ellis Serur <br /> <br />Councilmen: <br /> <br />Emmie Craddock, Ph,D. <br />Ronald J. Dannelley <br />Luciano H, Flores <br />Hollis W. Smith <br />Jerry Zavesky <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City Manager <br />City Secretary <br /> <br />Richard G. Bean <br />Dorothy O. Worrell <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Councilman <br /> <br />William C. Pool, Ph.D. <br /> <br />Visitors: <br /> <br />Gene Rourke, Harris M. Koch <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m., and <br />the Council proceeded with canvass of the City Officers <br />Election, see attached form, Dr. Craddock moved approval <br />of the returns of the election judges, with two corrections <br />in Place Four, and two in Place Five, resulting in the <br />official vote tally, as follows: <br /> <br />PLACE FOUR: <br /> <br />Frank Contreras, jr. <br /> <br />994 <br /> <br />Ross King <br /> <br />785 <br />1617 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />PLACE FIVE: <br /> <br />Emmie Craddock <br /> <br />Mr. Smith seconded the motion, and the following vote <br />was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Craddock, Dannelley, Flores, Serur, Smith, Zavesky <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion carried, and Frank Contreras, Jr. <br />elected Councilman for Place Four, and Dr. Emmie Craddock <br />reelected as Councilwoman for Place Five. <br /> <br />Gene Rourke, of Ranson & Company, fiscal advisers for the <br />City, came before the Council for authorization to advertise <br />a bid-letting on the $1,400,000 bonds which the City wishes <br />to sell. Councilman Dannelley moved that the bid-leeting be <br />advertised for 7:30 p.m., May 12, 1969. Mr. Zavesky seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The City Manager referred to a letter received from the U.S. <br />Corps of Engineers, in which District Engineer R.S. Kristoffer- <br />son asked to present an alternate flood--control plan. The <br />letter is attached and made a part of the Minutes. It was <br />agreed by common consent that a representative of the Corps <br />be asked to present the alternate plan at the April 14 meeting. <br /> <br />Mr. Bean reminded the Council that Planner Ellifrit would <br />present another in his series of workshops on the San Marcos <br />Comprehensive Community Plan, at 5:30 p.m., April 9. <br /> <br />The meeting adjourned at 3:00 p.m. <br />
