I I I AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORDINANCE WHICH ESTABLISHES MINIMUM FINES TO BE LEVIED BY THE CORPORATION COURT OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS AND UNDER CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, BY THE SUBSTITUTION OF AN ENTIRELY NEW SECTION NO. 1 FOR THE PRESENT SECTION NO. l; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND PROVIDING FOR LEGAL PUBLICATION HEREOF BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: - A - That the following Section 1 be substituted in full for. the present Section 1 of the ordinance establishing minimum fines to be levied by the Corporation Court of the City of San Marcos in certain situations and under certain limi- tations, said original ordinance being dated the l4th day of February, 1966, and of record in Volume 31, Minutes of the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas: Section 1. 1. parking a motor vehicle in a restricted zone $ lO.OO 2. Parking a motor vehicle at a fire plug $ 20..00 3. Parking a motor vehicle on the left side of a street in the business district $ 10.00 4. Parking a motor vehicle on the left side of a street in a residential district 5.00 5. Operating a motor vehicle on the left side of the street $ 20.00 6. parking a motor vehicle in lane of traffic $ 15.00 7. Operating a motor vehicle without a driver's license $ 25.00 8. Improper parking of a motor vehicle $ 10.00 9. Driving a motor vehicle through a stop sign $ 15..00 10. Driving a motor vehicle through an amber or red light $ 20.00 11. Making a "U" turn in a motor vehicle where such turn is prohibited 15.00 12. Passing another motor vehicle in "No Passing" zone $ 25.00 13. Making a left or right turn in a motor vehicle where such is prohibited $ l5.00 14. Operating a motor vehicle without proper lights $ 10.00 15. Driving without lights $ 20.00 16. Operating a motor vehicle with a defective muffler $ 10.00 17. Being intoxicated in a public place $ 25.00 18. Second and subsequent offense of being intox- icated in a public place $ 200.0p 19. Operating a motor vehicle without a current safety inspection sticker $ l5.00 20. Driving a motor vehicle in wrong direction on a one-way street 20.00 21. Running a motor vehicle over a fire hose 25.00 to $50.00 22. Failure to yield right-of-way to another motor vehicle $ 20.00 23. Following another motor vehicle too closely $ 20.00 24. Negligent collision between motor vehicles $ 20.00 25. Involvement in speed contest between motor vehicles $ 20.00 26. Exceeding the speed limit ($1.00 per mile for each mile over the posted legal speed limit). 27. Exceeding the speed limits in a school zone ($2.00 for each mile over the posted legal speed limit be- tween the hours of 8 A.M. and 5 P.M. on Mondays through Fridays or during any other time school is in session)
