<br />24. <br /> <br />AMENDMENT NO.2 TO <br />_ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT <br /> <br />This is Amendment No.2 to the Economic Development Agreement between the City of San <br />Marcos, Texas, a Texas municipal corporation (the "City"), the Greater San Marcos Economic <br />Development Council (the "EDC") and the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce (the <br />"Chamber") . <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. The City Council, on September 22,2003, approved an agreement (the "Agreement") with <br />the EDC and the Chamber for fiscal year 2003-2004 for professional services to promote orderly and <br />responsible economic development for the San Marcos geographic area. <br />2. The City, the EDC and the Chamber wish to amend the Agreement to add a marketing <br />communications plan to the scope of services provided by the EDC and the Chamber under the <br />Agreement, and to provide funding for the marketing communications plan. <br /> <br />AMENDMENT: <br /> <br />1. Section I.A of the Agreement is amended to add the following goal: <br />Goal No.5: Develop and Implement a Marketing Communications Plan <br />Strategy: To attract new primary employers through a marketing <br />communications plan. <br /> <br />Actions: <br /> <br />1. Create, produce and distribute a professional set of collateral, as described in <br />the attached memorandum from Dan Rogers to the City Council dated <br />January 26,2004 (the "Memo"). <br />2. Advertise in relevant trade publications, as described in the Memo. <br />3. Create and maintain a new web site for the EDC, as described in the Memo. <br />4. Attend targeted trade shows, as described in the Memo. <br />As to items 1 and 2 above, the EDC and the Chamber agree to develop a theme for <br />the collateral and advertisements, and to review and obtain approval of this theme <br />with the City Council prior to finalization of the collateral and advertisements. <br />As to item 4 above, the EDC and the Chamber agree to provide a written report to the <br />City Council within 30 days of each trade show describing the contacts made and the <br /> <br />Page 1 <br />
