<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />26 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO., 1979",14",)\ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ORDERING THE PLACEMENT <br />OF CHARTER AMENDMENT PROPOSITIONS ON THE <br />APRIL 7, 1979 REGULAR ELECTION BALLOT; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, adopted <br />a Resolution on January 8, 1979 which called for an Election to be <br />held on Saturday, April 7, 1979; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said Reso~ution also authorized the placement of ten (10) <br />Charter amendment propositions on said Election ballot; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on February 15, 1979 a petition calling for the submission <br />of two additional Charter amendment propositions was presented to <br />the City Secretary; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said petition has been determined to be sufficient in both <br />form and content according to the laws of the State of Texas; now, <br />therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. That the following propositions to amend the City Charter <br />shall be submitted to the resident, qualified voters of the City <br />for their action thereupon at the Regular Election to be held <br />April 7, 1979: <br /> <br />PROPOSITION NO. 11 <br /> <br />FOR/AGAINST: Amend Section 6.01 to delegate to the <br />people of the City the power of direct <br />legislation by initiative in all matters <br />by repealing the exception of ordinances <br />appropriating money or levying taxes, or <br />ordinances pepealing ordinances appropriat- <br />ing money or levying taxes. <br /> <br />PROPOSITION NO. 12 <br /> <br />FOR/AGAINST: Amend Section 6.02 to delegate to the <br />people of the City the power to approve <br />or reject at the polls any legislation <br />enacted by the Council by repealing the <br />exception of ordinances authorizing the <br />issuance of bonds (either tax bonds or <br />revenue bonds, original or refunding bonds). <br /> <br />PART 2.
