<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />99 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1979-32-R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING A HOUSING PAYMENTS <br />SCHEDULE TO DISPLACED HOMEOWNERS AND <br />INCREASING THE AMOUNT OF REPLACEMENT <br />HOUSING PAYMENTS AS SPECIFIED IN THE <br />UNIFORM RELOCATION ASSISTANCE AND REAL <br />PROPERTY ACQUISITION POLICIES ACT OF <br />1970. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the primary objective of the Housing and Community <br />Development Act of 1977 is the development of viable urban <br />communities, including decent housing, a suitable living <br />environment, and expanding economic opportunities for persons of <br />low and moderate income; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Community Development Department of the City <br />of San Marcos, Texas, is the Local Public Agency for administer: <br />ing funds allocated by said Act; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said Act requires that the Local Public Agency <br />possess a Relocation Plan outlining actions to be taken and <br />standards to be applied in carrying out relocation operations <br />under said Act; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, after being reviewed by the Local Public Agency <br />it has been determined that the limits for replacement housing <br />payments under the Act are not sufficient to implement the City <br />of San Marcos Community Development Housing Assistance Relocation <br />Program due to the financial condition of most applicants for <br />housing assistance; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City Council of San Marcos, <br />Texas, to officially act upon and increase the replacement <br />housing payment limits; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CJTY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The City of San Marcos Community Development <br />Department Relocation Plan is incorporated into the Housing <br />Assistance Program as part of the Housing Relocation Program. <br />This plan satisfies requirements mandated by the Relocation <br />Policies and Procedures Handbook (1371.1 REV) and the Uniform <br />Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies <br />Act of 1970 (P. 1. 91-646). <br /> <br />PART 2. Replacement housing payments for displaced <br />homeowners may be in an amount not to exceed a total of <br />$17,500.00 per household.
