<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />105 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1979-33-R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, DECLARING <br />THE RESULT OF A SPECIAL CITY ELECTION <br />HELD MAY 5, 1979. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an Election was held on May 5, 1979 for the purpose <br />of electing a Council Member to Place #6 (recently redesignated <br />Place #5 pursuant to a Charter amendment adopted at an Election <br />held on April 9, 1979); and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it appears from said return, duly and legally made, <br />that there were cast at said Election 862 valid and legal votes; <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, each of the candidates in said Election received <br />the following votes: <br /> <br />NAME OF CANDIDATE <br /> <br />TOTAL NUMBER OF VOTES <br />299 <br /> <br />Fred Guerra <br /> <br />Berry R. James <br /> <br />549 <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. That said Election was duly called and notice of <br />said Election was given in accordance with law and that in <br />accordance with the order of this governing body, the Secretary <br />posted notice of this meeting on the bulletin board located in <br />City Hall, a place convenient to the public, and said notice <br />having been posted and remaining posted continuously for at <br />least three days preceding the date of this meeting. A copy of <br />the return of said posting shall be attached to the minutes of <br />this meeting and shall be made a part thereof for all intents <br />and purposes. <br /> <br />PART 2. That Berry R. James was duly elected Council <br />Member, Place 6 (recently redesignated Place #5), subject to <br />the taking of his oath. <br /> <br />PART 3.
