I I I 105 RESOLUTION NO. 1979-33-R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, DECLARING THE RESULT OF A SPECIAL CITY ELECTION HELD MAY 5, 1979. WHEREAS, an Election was held on May 5, 1979 for the purpose of electing a Council Member to Place #6 (recently redesignated Place #5 pursuant to a Charter amendment adopted at an Election held on April 9, 1979); and, WHEREAS, it appears from said return, duly and legally made, that there were cast at said Election 862 valid and legal votes; and, WHEREAS, each of the candidates in said Election received the following votes: NAME OF CANDIDATE TOTAL NUMBER OF VOTES 299 Fred Guerra Berry R. James 549 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. That said Election was duly called and notice of said Election was given in accordance with law and that in accordance with the order of this governing body, the Secretary posted notice of this meeting on the bulletin board located in City Hall, a place convenient to the public, and said notice having been posted and remaining posted continuously for at least three days preceding the date of this meeting. A copy of the return of said posting shall be attached to the minutes of this meeting and shall be made a part thereof for all intents and purposes. PART 2. That Berry R. James was duly elected Council Member, Place 6 (recently redesignated Place #5), subject to the taking of his oath. PART 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage.
