<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Engineer responsible for construction means, methods, <br />techniques, sequences or procedures or for safety <br />precautions or programs or for Contractor(s), failure <br />to perform the construction work in accordance with <br />the Contract Documents, <br /> <br />e. Subsurface Investigations and Laboratory Tests: The <br />Engineer will provide the Dwner with advice, when <br />requested, with respect to the making of all subsur- <br />face investigations, including borings, test pits, <br />soil-resistivity surveys, and other subsurface explora- <br />tions; however, the making of such investigations <br />and the interpretations of data and reports by special <br />consultants are not a part of the services to be rendered <br />by the Engineer, and the cost therefore shall be paid <br />by the Owner. <br /> <br />f. <br /> <br />The Engineer shall monitor and review the work of <br />testing laboratories and inspection bureaus required <br />for the testing or inspection of materials, etc., <br />for the Project, but the cost of such laboratory tests <br />or inspection shall be paid by the Owner. <br /> <br />Topographic, Right-of-Way, and Land Surveys: The <br />Englneer shall make topographlc surveys only when <br />necessary in connection with the location and design <br />of all structures. <br /> <br />The Engi neer shall prepare "center-l i ne type" descriptions <br />for the procurement of right-of-way along pipeline <br />route surveys for the design of the Project, provided <br />such descriptions may be developed from the design <br />surveys. If additional surveys are required to de- <br />termine property corners in connection with the de- <br />scriptions for the right-of-way easements, the cost <br />of such surveys shall be paid by the Owner and are <br />not a part of this Agreement. All easements required <br />shall be furnished and purchased by the Owner. <br /> <br />The Engineer will indicate to the Owner the approximate <br />boundaries of land which may be required for the Pro- <br />ject. Surveys for the procurement of land and services <br />in connection with proceedings for the condemnation <br />of land are not a part of this contract.
