<br />54 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />ORDINANCE 40b <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COENeIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, REPEALING <br />SECTION 2-31, ENTITLED "JOB CLASSIFICATIONS <br />AND SALARY", OF ARTICLE III, ENTITLED <br />"CIVIL SERVICE AND EMPLOYEE BENEFITS", OF <br />CHAPTER 2, ENTITLED "ADMINISTRATION" OF THE <br />CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY, ENACTING <br />A NEW ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING JOB CLASSIFICATIONS <br />AND THE NUMBER OF POSITIONS IN EACH JOB <br />CLASSIFICA'T'JON IN THE DEPARn~ENT OF PTlBLIC <br />SAFETY IN SAID CITY; SETTING THE SALARY FOR <br />EACH JOR CLASSIFICATION ANn DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That Section 2-31, entitled "Job Classifications <br />and Salary", of Article III, entitled "Civil Service and <br />Employee Benefits", of Chapter 2 entitled "Administration" of <br />the Code or Ordinances of the City of San Marcos, Texas, be, <br />and is hereby, repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. That the need to provide increased staffing <br />in the Department of Public Safety of the City of San Marcos <br />as authorized by the 1979-1980 Budget of the City has created <br />an urgent public necessity and purpose requiring that the <br />provision of the Charter of the City of San Marcos requiring <br />that ordinances be read on three separate days, and that no <br />ordinance shall be effective until the expiration of ten (10) <br />days following the date of its final passage be dispensed with <br />and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect on final <br />passage and publication in a newspaper of general circulation. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED this 24th day of September, 1979. <br /> <br />~C~~ <br /> <br />i ,John A.
