" .~ \ ~I "I .....-....: ~I MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE URBAN RENEWAL BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, HELD TUESDAY, AUGUST 14, 1979. COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Yancy Yarbrough, Chairman E. S. Duran, Member Karen Parks, Member COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Richard Cruz, Member Dr. K. Swa in, Member CITY STAFF PRESENT: Albert Sierra, Director Community Services OTHERS PRESENT: Ted Cohen Earl e Jones Chairman Yarbrough called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and were not approved but will be reread at the next meeting to allow for corrections. The first item considered was the award of bid for a portion of parcel 12-2. Ted Cohen submitted a bid in the amount of $1.60 per square foot for the Y, portion of the parcel of land at the corner of C. M. Allen and Cheathem Street. This parcel is approximately 192' X 132.55'. (see attached plat) Mr. Duran moved for approval and Ms. Parks seconded, the motion passed unanimously. The second item considered was the award of bid for the demolition of seven structures acquired through Community Development activity. Three bids were received and the low bid was $1,000.00 submitted by Mr. James Houston. Ms. Parks moved for approval and Mr. Duran seconded. Unanimous consent was received. The third item considered was the establishment of value for a shed at 300 Comacho Street. The value established was $100.00. Also value was established at $18,000.00 for the home owned by Ms. Merced Silguero. Ms. Parks moved to approVe and Mr. Duran seconded the motion. Unanimous approval was received. Unanimous approval was given to the counter offer of $2,500.00 from the Antioch Church. Under other matters Mr. Sierra gave a brief status report on the 5th year application.
