<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />54 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1978-l8-R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF' <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, SUPPORTING AN APPLICATION <br />MADE BY HAYS COUNTY FOR FUNDING UNDER THE YOUNG <br />ADULT CONSERVATION CORPS PROGRAM AND EXPRESSING' <br />THE CITY'S INTENT TO PARTICIPATE IN SAID PROGRAM. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Title VIII of the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act of <br />1973 provides federal assistance to out-of-schoo1 youths between the <br />ages of 16 to 23 through a period of service during which they engage in <br />useful conservation work and assist in completing other projects of a <br />public nature on public lands and waters; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the governing body of Hays County has authorized submission of <br />an application for funding under the Young Adult Conservation Corps <br />Program to the Texas Department of Community Affairs, Youth Services <br />Division; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos wishes to participate in the Young Adult: <br />Conservation Corps Program to be administered by Hays County; now, ther"fore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. That the City supports and endorses a grant application submitted <br />by Hays County to the Texas Department of Community Affairs, Youth <br />Services Division for funding under the Young Adult Conservation Corps <br />Program. <br /> <br />PART 2. That the City expresses its desire and intent to join in the <br />Young Adult Conservation Program to be administered by Hays County by using <br />personnel and supplies provided by said County in the environmental <br />development and conservation of City parkland, creek beds, right-of-way, <br />fire lanes, and other developed and undeveloped properties. <br /> <br />PART 3.
