I

I

6

would eliminate the haphazard approach to enforcing the
existing ordinance.

In summary, there are four (4) alternatives to be
considered. They are: (1) Replace the ordinance with a
requirement that all mobile homes locate in mobile home
parks and utilize a floating zone to locate the parks; (2)
Replace the ordinance with a floating zone to locate mobile
home parks, yet still allow mobile homes to locate in R-l
districts under stricter requirements; (3) Modify the
existing ordinance by making the application process an
administrative function and by establishing a Board of
Appeals; and (4) Eliminate the ordinance altogether with no
replacement.

In conclusion, staff would like to point out that these
are simply suggestions. The alternatives presented are not
the only choices available. They can be combined, modified,
or taken as they are presented. It is now up to the City
Council to provide the direction for staff to follow.
