I I I ORDINANCE NO. 1978-41 62 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THAT ORDINANCE CODIFIED AS SECTION 12-17 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES WHICH IS ENTITLED "DISPOSAL CHARGES, SANITARY LANDFILL" AND FILED IN VOLUME 41, PAGE 84 OF THE MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL, BY ESTABLISHING NEW RATES; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND SETTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, costs of providing a sanitary landfill service have escalated and budgetary considerations govern the need to raise disposal charges at the San Marcos sanitary landfill, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. That Section 12-17 of the Code of Ordinances entitled "Dispos'al charges, sani tary landfill", be, and is hereby, amended to read as follows: Sec. 12-17. Disposal charges, sanitary landfill. The following charges shall govern the disposing of refuse at the City of San Marcos sanitary landfill: l/2-ton truck.... .$1.00 I-ton truck.. .... .$3.00 1 l/2-ton truck.. .$5.00 2-ton truck.......$7.00 Two wheel trailers..... .$2.00 Four wheel trailers.... .$4.00 Commercial refuse haulers.......$I.OO per yard Above 2-ton truck..... ..$9.00 For any vehicle smaller than liZ-ton pick up truck there will be a minimum charge of fifty cents ($0.50). PART 2. That due to the pressing budgetary obligations of the City which must be dealt with immediately, an emergency is declared, and the provisions of the City Charter requiring that ordinances shall be read on three several days and that no ordinance shall become effective until the expiration of ten (10) days following the date of its final passage, be, and is hereby, dispensed with, this ordinance to become effective on the 1st day of October, 1978, following passage by this body.
