<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1978-41 <br /> <br />62 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THAT <br />ORDINANCE CODIFIED AS SECTION 12-17 OF <br />THE CODE OF ORDINANCES WHICH IS ENTITLED <br />"DISPOSAL CHARGES, SANITARY LANDFILL" AND <br />FILED IN VOLUME 41, PAGE 84 OF THE MINUTES <br />OF THE CITY COUNCIL, BY ESTABLISHING NEW <br />RATES; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND SETTING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, costs of providing a sanitary landfill service have <br />escalated and budgetary considerations govern the need to <br />raise disposal charges at the San Marcos sanitary landfill, <br />now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. That Section 12-17 of the Code of Ordinances entitled <br />"Dispos'al charges, sani tary landfill", be, and is hereby, <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 12-17. Disposal charges, sanitary landfill. <br /> <br />The following charges shall govern the disposing of <br />refuse at the City of San Marcos sanitary landfill: <br /> <br />l/2-ton truck.... .$1.00 <br />I-ton truck.. .... .$3.00 <br />1 l/2-ton truck.. .$5.00 <br />2-ton truck.......$7.00 <br /> <br />Two wheel trailers..... .$2.00 <br />Four wheel trailers.... .$4.00 <br />Commercial refuse <br />haulers.......$I.OO per yard <br />Above 2-ton truck..... ..$9.00 <br /> <br />For any vehicle smaller than liZ-ton pick up truck there <br />will be a minimum charge of fifty cents ($0.50). <br /> <br />PART 2. That due to the pressing budgetary obligations of the <br />City which must be dealt with immediately, an emergency is <br />declared, and the provisions of the City Charter requiring that <br />ordinances shall be read on three several days and that no <br />ordinance shall become effective until the expiration of ten <br />(10) days following the date of its final passage, be, and is <br />hereby, dispensed with, this ordinance to become effective on <br />the 1st day of October, 1978, following passage by this body. <br /> <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of September, 1978. <br /> <br />ATTEST:_ / /.
