<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />68 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1978-67-R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR <br />THE CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT TO BE CONSIDERED <br />AT THE NEXT GENERAL ELECTION ALLOWING POLITICAL <br />SUBDIVISIONS TO ISSUE REVENUE BONDS TO CREATE <br />JOBS FOR CITIZENS. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, jobs for citizens of San Marcos, Texas, are crucial <br />to our areas, economic stability and growth; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, forty~six states in the United States have found <br />in the public interest to allow political subdivisions to <br />issue revenue bonds to create jobs; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Texas does not have such a competitive tour for <br />communities to entice new job opportunities; now therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE SAN MARCOS CITY COUNCIL, encourages <br />every citizen to study the advantages of this far sighted <br />concept of fair and competitive business opportunity; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that every citizen support and <br />encourage passage of the constitutional amendment allowing <br />political subdivisions to issue revenue bonds to create <br />jobs for their citizens. <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 18th day of September, 1978. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tempore <br /> <br />;;~.dw <br /> <br /> <br />Doriss Hambrick <br />City Secretary <br /> <br />APPROVED: <br /> <br />~~ <br /> <br />Charles E.
