<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />74 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1978-69-R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, URGING VOTER <br />PARTICIPATION IN THE BOND ELECTION OF <br />THE UPPER SAN MARCOS WATERSHED RECLAMATION <br />AND FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT ON OCTOBER 5, <br />1978; AND URGING PASSAGE OF SAID SALE <br />OF BONDS TO THE BENEFIT OF THE RESIDENTS <br />OF SAID DISTRICT AND THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Upper San Marcos Watershed Reclamation <br />and Flood Control District has been established in accordance <br />with the Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Act <br />and in accordance with the National Environmental Policy <br />Act of 1969, for Hays and Comal Counties of Texas; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of said District, <br />having been elected by the membership of the District, <br />have exhibited good sound judgement; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said Board of Directors are now seeking the <br />help of the citizens of the Upper San Marcos Watershed <br />Reclamation and Flood Control District in voting in favor <br />of the sale of bonds on October 5, 1978, to finance said <br />District's portion of the program; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the successful passage of said sale of bonds <br />will benefit the City of San Marcos in the following <br />respects and particulars: <br /> <br />(1) Flood Retention and Control, <br />(2) Development of Property in the Flood Plain, <br /> <br />(3) Park and River Development, <br />(4) Recharge of Local Water Sources; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos <br />does recognize the importance and urgency of this election; <br />now, therefore: <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />Part 1. <br /> <br />That the City Council of the City of San Marcos <br />hereby urges each and every citizen of the Upper <br />San Marcos Watershed Reclamation and Flood Control <br />District to participate in said bond election on <br />October 5, 1978, and to vote in favor of the sale <br />of said bonds. <br /> <br />Part 2. <br /> <br />That this Resolution shall be in full force and <br />effect immediately from and after its passage. <br /> <br /> <br />APPROVED AND ADOPTED this <br /> <br />197~ <br />/ ~ <br />/~ yat, a~' <br />U \S.-r12-~ <br /> <br />Ted Breihan, ouncilman <br /> <br />ATTEST: ~ <br /> <br />j~~ __ !/?1L/~ <br /> <br />~g/~ <br />
