<br />RESOLUTION NO. 1978-70-R <br /> <br />75 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ENDORSING THE <br />OBJECTIVES OF THE WOMEN, INFANTS, AND <br />CHILDREN (W.I.C.) PROGRN,'; EXPRESSING A <br />DESIRE TO CONTINUE FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATIVE <br />CONTROL OF THE LOCAL W.I.C. PROGRAM; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos desires to continue to have <br />provided nutritional information and foods for low income, <br />pregnant women, their infants and children; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the W.I.C. Program is furnishing these services <br />for the benefit of the citizens of San Marcos; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is aware that the program has in <br />the past had a cash-flow problem due to the total reimburse- <br />ment nature of the program; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City believes it has sufficient cash-flow to <br />adequately manage the financial administration of the program; <br />now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That the City Council whole-heartedly endorses the <br />objectives of the W.I.C. Program. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. That the City Council desires to continue financial <br />administrative control of the program. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />SECTION 3. That the Acting City Manager, Mr. Albert Sierra, <br />or his successor, be authorized to enter into a contractual <br />agreement between the City and the Texas Department of Health <br />Resources for the purposes of this resolution. <br /> <br />SECTION 4.
