RESOLUTION NO. 1978-70-R 75 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ENDORSING THE OBJECTIVES OF THE WOMEN, INFANTS, AND CHILDREN (W.I.C.) PROGRN,'; EXPRESSING A DESIRE TO CONTINUE FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATIVE CONTROL OF THE LOCAL W.I.C. PROGRAM; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. I WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos desires to continue to have provided nutritional information and foods for low income, pregnant women, their infants and children; and, WHEREAS, the W.I.C. Program is furnishing these services for the benefit of the citizens of San Marcos; and, WHEREAS, the City Council is aware that the program has in the past had a cash-flow problem due to the total reimburse- ment nature of the program; and, WHEREAS, the City believes it has sufficient cash-flow to adequately manage the financial administration of the program; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Council whole-heartedly endorses the objectives of the W.I.C. Program. SECTION 2. That the City Council desires to continue financial administrative control of the program. I SECTION 3. That the Acting City Manager, Mr. Albert Sierra, or his successor, be authorized to enter into a contractual agreement between the City and the Texas Department of Health Resources for the purposes of this resolution. SECTION 4. This resolution shall become effective immediately from and after its passage.
