Evans
City Attorney

ENTEX RATES

December 8, 1978

RE:

I

CSM-loo

.

During the week, I had the opportunity to meet with our
consultants in Dallas regarding the Entex rate request.

This firm, Deloitte, Haskins and Sells, has reported that
a reasonable increase of $34,000 is justified, versus the
$122,080 requested by Entex.

If the Council is satisifed with this figure, then I would
recommend that the Council consider submitting it back to
Entex for its recommendation as to how the increase should
be applied to the different customer classes.

Should Entex not wish to assist in this regard, then the
Council will need to proceed to design a new rate ordinance
around the proposed increase. This ordinance should be
prepared and passed as soon as possible.

A copy of the Deloitte, Haskins and Sells report is attached
for your information and review.

I will draft an appropriate blank resolution for the Council's
consideration Monday evening.

&2;t~

Charles E.
