'~fi~::: I I . WHEREAS, in HAYS COUNTY, the City of San Marcos has requested assistilnce in recondHTilnTngand resurfacing on L.G.J. Drive from lnter- state Highway 35, north to Colorado Street, a distance of approxi~ately 1.1 miles; and WHEREAS, L.B.J. Drive is included in the Urban System; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation to assist the City of San i'\arcos in such ~Iork; NOW, THEREFORE, the Engineer-Director is directed to tender the following proposal to the City of San Marcos: , Provided ,the City will: 1. Provide for the adjustment of utilities, the construction of continuous curb and gutter, stol'm sewers, drivel'lays and side- ,walks, all ilS may be required and all in accordance with governing policies and regulations of the Department. 2. Maintain all of the work constructed as part of the project from lnterstate Highway 35 to Grove Street and that portion of the work from Grove Street to Colorado Street I'lhich is its res pons i bi 1 ity in accol'dance with present ma i ntenance agreement and agree to regulate traffic, provide for parallel parking and prevent encroachment on the right of way, all in accordance with governing policies and regulations of the Oepa r tmen t. Subject to the availability of Federal-aid Urban System funds and the eligibility of the r','oposed \'JOrk for financing I'lith said funds, the State Department of High"lays and Public Transportation \,ill: 1. Prepare construction plans and specifications. 2. Provide for reconditioning and resurfacing at an estimated cost of S89,800.00 as authorized in the 1975-1976 Urban Sys- tem Prog ram. 3. Maintain that portion of the \,ork from Grove Street to Colorado Street \'Ihich is its responsibility in accordance with presen t l11il i n tena nce agreel11en t.
