<br />'.;.">- ; <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />HHEREAS, in HAYS COUNTY, the City of San f.larcos has requested <br />assistance in reconstruction-on Frankl in Street from Girard Street, south- <br />west to Bishop Street. a distance of approximately 0.3 mile; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Franklin Street is included in the Urban Sytem; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the State Department of Highvlays and <br />Public Transportation to assist the City of San Mafcos in such work; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the Engineer-Director is directed to tender the <br />following proposal to the City of San Marcos: <br /> <br />Provided the City will: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Provide for the adjustment of utilities, the construction of <br />continuous curb and gutter, storm sewers, driveways and side- <br />walks, all as may be required and all in accordance with <br />governing policies and regulations of the Department. <br /> <br />2. ' <br /> <br />Maintain all of the work constructed as part of the project <br />and'agree to regulate traffic, provide for parallel parking <br />and prevent encroachment on the right of I-lay, all in accor- <br />daric~ with governing policies and regulations of the Depart- <br />ment. <br /> <br />Subject to the availability of Federal-aid Urban System funds and <br />the eligibility of the proposed work for financing with said funds, the <br />State Department of, Highways and Public Transportation will: <br /> <br />1. Prepare construction plans and specifications. <br /> <br />2. Provide for reconstruction of grading, structures and sur- <br />facing at an estimated cost of 554,700.00 as authorized in <br />the 1975-1976 Urban System Program. <br /> <br />Upon acceptance of the provisions of this Order by the app,"opri- <br />ate officials of the City of San Marcos, IT IS ORDERED that Franklin <br />Street and 81shop Street extending from Girard Street, south and east to <br />Hazelton Street, a distance of approximately 0.6 mile. be and is h'~I"eby <br />designated as a r.1ETROPOLITMI HIGH~-I^Y and the Engineer-Oir"ector is direct- <br />ed to enter into-any nece'ssar:Yagrcclnents vlith the City covering the <br />details of the proposed improvements, to proceed with the engineering <br />devC'lopment of the pI"oject and after the City has fulfilled its responsi- <br />bilities, to proceed with construction as authorized herein in the most <br />feasible and economical mannel". <br />
