OF <br />'TIlE CITY OF SAN MAOCOS, TEXAS, ENOORSINS <br />'TIlE CCM1UNITY ACl'ION AGENCY APPLICATION <br />FOR A RURAL HEALTH INITIATIVE PIU;RAM <br />FOR HAYS AND CALIMELL COUNl'IFS. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Hays and Caldwell Counties have been officially. designated as a <br />medically underservoo area by the Departmant of Health, Eliucation ani Welfare; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, designation as a medically urderserved area takes into consideration <br />the physician shortage, a high infant rrortality rate, a high incidence of <br />poverty, and a high migrant ~t; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, designation as a medically underserved area allows the Comnunity <br />Action Agency to suJ:mit an application for a Rural Health Initiative Program; arrl <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the proposai Rural Health Initiative Program ~uld result in t:he <br />establislmlent of new clinics in San Marcos, Lockhart and Illling; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Rural Health Initiative Program ~d provide rrore medical <br />care with rrore efficiency to the citizens of Hays and Caldwell counties; nO\<l, <br />therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY 'TIlE CITY COUNCU. OF 'TIlE CITY OF SAN M1\RCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />Part 1. That the Ccmnunity Action Agency application for a Rural Health <br />Initiative Program for Hays and Caldwell Counties be, ani is hereby, endorsoo <br />by the City Council of the City of San Marcos. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Part 2.
