<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />209a <br /> <br />STATE OF TEXAS <br /> <br />X <br />1 <br /> <br />CONl'RACT 'ill ESTABLISH <br />THE TUlA 'l'G<INSEND <br />WYATT COILECI'ICN <br /> <br />COUNTY OF HAYS <br /> <br />m:M ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: <br /> <br />That on this /.7/i. day of tC,aJ. , A.D., 1977, the City of San <br />Marcos, Hays County, Texas, a municipal corporation existing by and under <br />the laws of the State of Texas, ilereinafter referred to as "City", acting <br />through its Mayor, Dr. Elmlie Craddock, and Mrs. william A. Wyatt, Sr., hereby <br />entered into this agreement for the gift and donation of the Tula Townsend <br />Wyatt Collection of local history materials to the San Marcos Public <br />Library; the terms of said agreement being as follow: <br /> <br />I. <br /> <br />That Mrs. William A. Wyatt, Sr., hereby graciously agrees to donate <br />and make an outright gift to the Public Library of the CitY: of San Marcos <br />of her extensive collection of local history materials, including photographs, <br />news clippings, documents, maps, newspapers, and articles. <br /> <br />II. <br /> <br />That this collection of local history materials shall be known as the <br />"'fula Townsend Wyatt Collection". <br /> <br />III. <br /> <br />That the scope of said collection shall include local history materials <br />pertaining to San Marcos, Hays County and the surroUnding areas. <br /> <br />N. <br /> <br />That the purpose of said collection shall be to further the interest <br />and participation of all nanbers of the conmunity in the study and preservation <br />of our past and to recognize the outstanding and exanplary efforts of Tula <br />Townsend Wyatt in that regard. <br /> <br />v. <br /> <br />That the "'fula Townsend Wyatt Collection" shall be recognized as the <br />first such donation and gift to the Public Library of the City of San Marcos. <br /> <br />VI. <br /> <br />That said donation and gift shall serve as the nucleus collection for a <br />repository and reference center within the Public Library of the City of <br />San Marcos, having the purpose of gathering and preseJ1Ving our local hist;ory <br />by encouraging individual citizens to contribute such materials as: <br /> <br />Pictures - of hanes, public buildings, street scenes, pioneer citiz~!lls <br /> <br />N~per$, clippings, magazines or books - printed in San Marcos or containin< <br />information about the corrmunity <br />or its citizens. <br /> <br />Letters, Diaries or Journals - describing the life and times of the conmunity' <br />and its residents <br /> <br />School, Club or Public Records - such as old programs, speeches, catalogs <br />- - - or year books <br /> <br />~ or Illustrated Descriptive Material:- of San Marcos or Hays County <br /> <br />Tape Recordings - of individual citizens to serve as an oral history of <br />- our conmunity and its residents <br /> <br />Family Histories - of the families and ancestors of local citizens <br />
