A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE ACTING CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLI- CATION TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY FOR FUNDS FOR THE CONTINUED EMPLOYMENT BY THE CITY OF A TRAFFIC SAFETY COORDINATOR. WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos has employed a traffic safety coordi- nator through the use of funds made available 15y the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation's Office of Traffic Safety; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos recognizes the importance of continuing the programs for traffic safety that have been begun by the traffic safety coordinator; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TE~\S: Part 1. That the Acting Ci ty Manage I' of the 'Ci ty of San Marcos, be, and is, hereby authorized to submit to the Office of Traffic Safety of the State Department of Highways and Public Transportation, a grant application requesting funds for the continued employment, for the period October 1, 1977 to March 31, 1978, of a traffic safety coordinator for the City of San Marcos; . Part 2. That in the event the grant is approved, the Acting City Manager, or his successor, be, and is hereby, directed to conduct a management evaluation of the traffic safety program at the end of the term for said grant. Parti3. That this Resolution be, and is, in full force and effect immediately from and after its adoption.
