<br />I <br /> <br />181 I <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1977-54-R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ENDORSING THE OBJECTIVES <br />OF THE WOMEN, INFANTS, AND CHILDREN (WIC) <br />PROGRAM EXPRESSING A DESIRE TO ASSUME FINANCIAL <br />ADMINISTRATIVE CONTROL OF THE LOCAL WIC PROGRAM. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos desires to continue to have provided <br />nutritional information and foods for low income pregnant women, <br />infants and children; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the WIC program is furnishing these services for the benefit <br />of the citizens of San Marcos and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is aware the program has a cash-flow problern <br />due to the total reimbursement nature of the program; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City believes it has sufficient cash-flow to adequately <br />manage the financial administration of the program; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the City Council whole heartedly endorses the objectives <br />of the WIC Program. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the City Council desires to assume financial <br />administrative control of the program. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Section 3. That the City Manager, C.J. Webster, or his successor, <br />be authorized to enter into a contractual agreement between the City and <br />the Texas Department of Health Resources for the purposes of this resolution. <br /> <br />Section 4.
