<br />202 <br /> <br />RESOLlITION NO. 1976-9-R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, ESTABLISHING PROCEDURE FOR THE REGULAR CITY OFFICERS' <br />ELECTION TO BE HELD ON THE 3RD DAY OF APRIL, 1976. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the laws of the State of Texas provide that on April 3, 1976, there <br />shall be elected the following officials for this City: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUNCILMAN, PLACE 6 <br />COUNCILMAN, PLACE 1; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the laws of the State of Texas further provide that the Election Code <br />of the State of Texas is applicable to said election, and in order to comply with <br />said Code, an order should be passed establishing the procedure to be followed in <br />said election, and designating the voting places for said election; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. That all independent candidates at the election to be held on the first <br />Saturday in April, 1916, for the above~entioned offices file their applications to <br />become candidates with the Mayor of this City at City Hall on or before 30 days <br />before the date of said election. <br /> <br />PART 2. That all of said applications shall be substantially in the following form: <br /> <br />"To the Mayor of the City of San Marcos, Texas: <br /> <br />I hereby request that my name be placed upon the official ballot for the <br />election to be held on the 3rd day of April, 1976, as a candidate for <br />Place Councilman of said City. I hereby certify that I am above the <br />age of 18 years, a qualified elector and have resided 12 months next <br />preceding said election in said City, and I am elegible to hold office under <br />the Constitution of this State. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />DATED this the _ day of <br /> <br />, 1916. <br /> <br />Name of Candidate <br /> <br />RECEIYED the ~ day of <br /> <br />, 1976. <br /> <br />Mayor" <br /> <br />PART 3. That all candidates shall file with said application the loyalty <br />affidavit required by Article 6.02 of the Election Code. <br /> <br />PART 4. That the Secretary of this City shall, in accordance with the terms and <br />provisions of Article 13.32 of the Election Code, post in her office the names <br />of all candidates who have filed their applicetions in accordance with the terms <br />and provisions of this order, and said names shall be posted at a conspicuous place <br />in said office for at least 10 days before said Secretary orders the same to be <br />printed on the ballot for said election. <br /> <br />PART 5. That this City, having eleven election precincts, said election shall be <br />held at the following places in said City: <br /> <br /> In Election Precinct No. 11 at Dunoar Center <br /> In Election Precinct No. 12 at Guadalupe Hall <br />I In Electi on Precinct No. 13 at San Marcos High School Auditorium <br />In Election Precinct No. 20 at Bugg Lane Fire Station <br />In Election Precinct No. 30 at Westover Church <br />In Election Precinct No. 33 at Public Library <br /> In Election Precinct No. 34 at Holland Street Fire Station <br /> In Election Precinct No. 36 at American Lutheran Church <br /> In Election Precinct No. 44 at Woods Homes Auditorium <br /> In Election Precinct No. 45 at American Legion Building <br /> In Election Precinct No. 46 at Travi5 Elementary School. <br />
