202 RESOLlITION NO. 1976-9-R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING PROCEDURE FOR THE REGULAR CITY OFFICERS' ELECTION TO BE HELD ON THE 3RD DAY OF APRIL, 1976. WHEREAS, the laws of the State of Texas provide that on April 3, 1976, there shall be elected the following officials for this City: I COUNCILMAN, PLACE 6 COUNCILMAN, PLACE 1; and WHEREAS, the laws of the State of Texas further provide that the Election Code of the State of Texas is applicable to said election, and in order to comply with said Code, an order should be passed establishing the procedure to be followed in said election, and designating the voting places for said election; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. That all independent candidates at the election to be held on the first Saturday in April, 1916, for the above~entioned offices file their applications to become candidates with the Mayor of this City at City Hall on or before 30 days before the date of said election. PART 2. That all of said applications shall be substantially in the following form: "To the Mayor of the City of San Marcos, Texas: I hereby request that my name be placed upon the official ballot for the election to be held on the 3rd day of April, 1976, as a candidate for Place Councilman of said City. I hereby certify that I am above the age of 18 years, a qualified elector and have resided 12 months next preceding said election in said City, and I am elegible to hold office under the Constitution of this State. That all candidates shall file with said application the loyalty affidavit required by Article 6.02 of the Election Code. PART 4. That the Secretary of this City shall, in accordance with the terms and provisions of Article 13.32 of the Election Code, post in her office the names of all candidates who have filed their applicetions in accordance with the terms and provisions of this order, and said names shall be posted at a conspicuous place in said office for at least 10 days before said Secretary orders the same to be printed on the ballot for said election. PART 5. That this City, having eleven election precincts, said election shall be held at the following places in said City: In Election Precinct No. 11 at Dunoar Center In Election Precinct No. 12 at Guadalupe Hall I In Electi on Precinct No. 13 at San Marcos High School Auditorium In Election Precinct No. 20 at Bugg Lane Fire Station In Election Precinct No. 30 at Westover Church In Election Precinct No. 33 at Public Library In Election Precinct No. 34 at Holland Street Fire Station In Election Precinct No. 36 at American Lutheran Church In Election Precinct No. 44 at Woods Homes Auditorium In Election Precinct No. 45 at American Legion Building In Election Precinct No. 46 at Travi5 Elementary School.
