50a road's centerline lies approximately 100.0 feet south on~the northeast line of said Stokes-Yarbrough tract of land and is approximately 230.0 feet south on the northeast line of said Stokes-Yarbrough tract of land. SECTION 3: That the abandonment provided for.herein shall extend only to the public right, title, and easement in and to the tracts of land described in Section 1 of this ordinance, and shall be construed only to that interest the governing body of the City of San Marcos may legally and lawfully abandon and I is in consideration for the dedication for street purposes 6f the following land; to-wit: Fieldnotes for 1.08 acres of land, being out of that certain 4.68 acre tract of land conveyed to H. Garland Stokes, Mildred O. Stokes, and Herbert A. Yarbrough, Jr., recorded in Volume 246 at Page 638 on November 10, 1971, of the Hays County Deed Records, for street dedication for Cheatham Street, being more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING onfue northwest property line of the above- mentioned Stokes-Yarbrough tract of land, same being onr.the southeast line of the I.&G.N. Railroad from which point an iron pin at the most southerly corner of said Stokes-Yarbrough tract of land bears S 350 33'W an approximate distance of 250.0 feet; THENCE S 540 27'E a distance of 130.0 feet to a point on the southeast property line of said Stokes- Yarbrough tract of land, same being on the northwest line of the M.K.T. Railroad; THENCE N 540 48'E along said Stokes-Yarbrough south- east property line a distance of 590.0 feet to an '1 iron pin; THENCE N 830 38'E along said Stokes-Yarbrough south- east property line a distance of 16.59 feet to an iron pin; THENCE N 540 48'E along said Stokes-Yarbrough south- east property line a distance of 145.69 feet to a point which lies on the east line of Lot 1, Block 2, B.F. Donaldson Addition, a subdivision of San Marcos as reco~ded in Volume T at Page 102 of the Hays County Deed Records; THENCE N 070 30'W along said east line of Lot 1, Block 2, a distance of 64.20'feet to a point; THENCE S 540 40'W a distance of 743.0 feet to a point; THENCE N 540 27'W a distance of 95.0 feet to a point which lies on the aforesaid northwest property line of the Stokes-yarbrough tract of land and the south- east line of the I.&.G.N. Railroad. THENCE S 350 33'W a distance of 50.0 along said north- west property line of the Stokes-Yarbrough tract of I land to the point of BEGINNING, containing 1.08 acres of land. SECTION 4: That the Mayor of the City of San Marcos, Texas, Dr. Emmie Craddock, be, and is hereby, authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City of San Marcos, Texas, quitclaim deeds necessary to effectuate the purposes for which this ordinance is ddopted.
