<br />61 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1976 - 24 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING 8HAPTER 2, ARTICLE III, DIVISION 1 OF <br />THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br />BY AMENDING SECTION 2-31 SO AS TO REDUCE THE <br />NUMBER OF AUTHORIZED POSITIONS FOR POLICE <br />SERGEANT FROM SIX IN NUMBER TO FIVE IN NUMBER. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore established the <br />number of positions, classifications, and salary in grade for <br />Civil Service Personnel pursuant to the requirements of law; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is now of the opinion that the num- <br />ber of authorized Police Sergeants should be reduced from six to <br />five in number; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That Section 2-31 of Division 1" Article III, <br />Chapter 2 of said Coae of Ordinances of the City of San Marcos, <br />Texas, be, and is hereby, amended so as to reduce the number of <br />authorized Police Sergeants in the Police Series from six in number <br />to five in number. <br /> <br />SECTION 2.
