I I 71 RESOLUTION NO. 1976-42-R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION OF THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR FOR THE PURCHASE OF TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT FOR THE SAN MARCOS PUBLIC SAFETY DEPARTMENT, WHEREAS, funds in the form of 100% grants are available from the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration through the Criminal Justice Division of the Office of the Governor for' the purchase of technical equipment to be used for public safety purposes; and, WHEREAS, the San Marcos Public Safety Department has a need for: (1) a micro-fi~ihmnggsy.?tem that would provide instant access to public safety records and reduce storage space; and (2) a report writing system which would enable officers I r'=ports to be transcribed and typed during their shift periods; and, WHEREAS, these funds will be available for the progrmfi period of September 1, 1976, through June 3D, 1977; and, WHEREAS, the City Council believes that acquisition of these technical equipment systems would increase the efficiency of operation oft~he San Marcos Public Safety Department; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS;;, SECTION 1. That the City Manager of the City of San Marcos, Texas, be, and is hereby, authorized to submit a grant applica- tion to the Criminal Justice Division in the amount of $24,405.95 for the project entitled "San Marcos Public Safety Departm.ent - Technical Equipment,~ for the program period of September 1, 1976, through June 3D, 1977. This grant application will pro- vide funds for the purchase of equipment in two areas: (1.) a micro-filming system, and (2) a report writing system. SECTION 2. That this Resolution shall take effect in~e- diately from and after its passage. ADOPTED this 12th day of July, 1976. b~ Mayor ~lln Dor~ss~ City Secretary
