<br />74 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1975 - 31 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />SUSPENDING THE ENFORCEMENT OF THAT CERTAIN <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1974-13 KNOWN AS TEE MOBILE HOME <br />PARKS ORDINANCE AND REQUIRING MOBILE HOME <br />OWNERS TO COMPLY WITH AI'PLICABLE PROVISIONS OF <br />THE SOUTHERN STANDARD PLUMBING CODE, 1975 EDITION <br />AND THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1975 EDITION <br />FOR THE DURATION OF SUCH SUSPENSION; AND DECLARING <br />AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, is of the opinion <br />that that certain ordinance known as the Mobile Home Parks Ordinance requires <br />further consideration and redrafting; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. That that certain Ordinance No. 1974-13, knwon as the Mobile Home <br />Parks Ordinance, be, and is hereby, suspended from enforcement by the City <br />Building Inspection Departmenb: Such suspension shall last for a duration <br />of six (6) months during which time the terms and provisions of said Ordinance <br />shall not be enforced. <br /> <br />PART 2. That during the duration of such suspension enacted by the foregoing <br />paragraph, gas and electrical services shall be, and are hereby, regulated and <br />controlled by applicable provisions of the Southern Standard Plumbing Code, <br />1975 Edition, and the National Electrical Code, 1975 Edition. From and after <br />the effective date of this Ordinance and continuing through the periof of <br />suspension of the enforcement of the Mobile Home Parks Ordinance, all plumbing <br />and electrical work shall be permitted and fees collected pursuant to the above <br />referenced codes. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />PART 3. That urgent necessity requires that this Ordinance be passed as an <br />emergency measure for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, <br />health, welfare, and safety of said City and its inhabitants; therefore, the <br />provisions of the Charter of the City of San Marcos, Texas, which ordinarily <br />requires ordinances to be read on three (3) several days and that no ordinance <br />shall become effective until the expiration of ten (10) days following the dates <br />of its final passage be dispensed with.
