88 ORDINANCE NO. 1975 - 35 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OFSAI'! MARCOS, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING FEEs FOR INSTALLATION AND INSPEC- TION OF ELECTRICAL WORK: PERFORMED.IN THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS. WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos acting by and through the Building Inspection Department of the City is required to inspect the installation of electrical wiring and apparatus in order to promote the general health, safeth, and welfare of the community; and I WHEREAS, those who perform electrical work in said City are required to maintain a level of competence consistent with the "National Electrical Code, 1971 Edition", now and as hereafter amended, and to insure that competence, the necessity to collect fees to defray the cost of inspection becomes apparent; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. The fees for installation of any and all electric wiring, apparatus, equipment, and other electrical work, repairs, operations and renewals shall be paid by the person applying for the permit to the City Electrical Inspector at the time application is made for inspection. No permit shall be issued by said Electrical Inspector for less than minimum fee of Two Dollars ($2.00). SECTION 2. The fee for outlets for electric light or power in or upon any building whether wiring is concealed or open shall be twenty-five cents ($.25) per outlet for the first four (4) outlets, ten cents ($.10) per outlet for the next forty-six (46) outlets, and five cents ($.05) for each outlet over fifty (50) outlets. SECTION 3. The fee for installation of meter loops shall conform with the following schedule: MINIMUM . $ 2.00 each I RATED 0 - 60 .AMPS . 2.00 each RATED 61 - 200 .AMPS 3.00 each RATED 201 - 400 .AMPS 4.50 each RATED 401 - 600 .AMPS 6.00 each RATED OVER - 600 .AMPS 20.00 each The fee for installation of mains and disconnects shall conform with the following schedule: MINIMUM. . . . $ 2.00 each RATED 0 - 60 AMPS . 2.00 each RATED 61 - 200 AMPS 3.00 each RATED 201 - 400 AMPS 4.50 each RATED 401 ~ 600 AMPS 6.00 each RATED OVER - 600 AMPS 20.00 each 200 VOLTS OUTLETS.. .50 each (AIR CONDITIONING WINDOW UNITS INCLUDED) SECTION 4. The fee for the installation of each transformer (excepting bell ringing transformer), rectifier, or similar apparatus, whereby electric current is controlled, mOdified, or impeded, having a rating of 7 1/2. KVA shall be $1.50. If the apparatus has a rating over 7 1/2 KVA, the fee shall be $5.00. I SECTION 5. The fee for installation of motors over 1/2-horse power or generators and their immediate operating devices shall conform with the following schedule: GAS - PUMP . . FRACTIONAL H.P. OVER 1/2 H.P.
