74 RESOLUTION NO. 1974-3-R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, STATING THE INTENT OF SAID CITY TO DESIGNATE A TRACT OF LAND FOR THE SITE AND LOCATION OF A MUSEUM; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENTS WITH TEXAS MUSEUM OF HISTORY, INC. FOR THE PLACEMENT OF A MUSEUM BUILDING. I WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, desires to participate in the establishment of a museum within said City; and, WHEREAS, the City Council desires to provide a site for said museum; and, WHEREAS, the City Council desires to enter into contractual agreements with Texas Museum of History, Inc. for the placement of a building on said site; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: Part 1. That a certain tract of land dedicated to use for public museum purposes by deed executed by the Urban Renewal Agency of San Marcos, Texas, be, and is hereby,designated for the site and location of a public museum, said tract commonly known as Parcel 1-A,2 as designated by the Urban Renewal Plan for the City of San Marcos, except that part presently occupied by the City's Police and Court Building. I II Part 2. That the City Man~ger, James B. Baugh, or his successor, be, and is hereby, authorized to enter into contractual agreements with Texas Museum of History, Mnc. for the placement of a museum building on said site and to take all steps necessary to effectuate the intents and purposes expressed herein. Part 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its date of passage.
