80-b WHEREAS, the laws of the State of Texas further provide that the Election Code of the State of Texas is applicable to said election, and in order. to comply with said Code, an order should be passed establishing the procedure to be followed in said election, and designating the voting place for said election. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: I That all independent candidates at the election to be held on the first Tuesday in April, 1974.. for the above mentioned offices file their applications to become candidates with the Mayor of this City at City Hall on or before 30 days before the date of said election; That all of said applications shall be substantially in the fOAl owing form; "To the Mayor of the City of San Marcos, Texas: I hereby request that my name be placed upon the official ballot for the election to be held on the 2nd day of April, 1974, as a candidate for Councilman, Place of said City. I hereby certify that I am a citizen of the Utlited St.ates of America and that I am eligible to hold office under. the Constitution of this state and have resided in this state for a period of twelve months next preceding the date of said election and have resided in this City in which I offer myself as a candidate for twelve months next preceding the date of said election. Etheredge, Mayor" I All candidates shall file with said application the loyalty affidavit required by Article 6.02 of the Election Code. That the Secretary of this City shall, in accordance with the terms and provisions of Article 13.32 of the Election Code post in her office the names of all candidates who have filed their applications in accordance with the terms and provisions of this Order, and said names shall be posted at a conspicuous place in said office for at least 10 days before said Secretary shall order the same to be printed on the ballot for said election. This City having nine election precincts, said election shall be held at the following places in said City: I 1. In Elec t ion Precinct No. 6 at Guadalupe Hall; 2. In E1ec t ion Precinct No. 8 at American Legion Hall; 3. In Election Precinct No. 10 at Masonic Temple; 4. In Election Precinct No. 11 at Dunbar Community Center; 5. In Election Precinct No. 12 at El Buen Pastor Methodist Church; 6. In EJ:ec tion Precinct No. 13 at Public Library; 7. In Election Precinct No. 14 at St. John's Parish Hall; 8. In Election Precinct No. 15 at Holland St. Fire Station; 9. In Election Precinct No. 16 at Allen Woods Homes Auditorium. The City Secretary is hereby authorized and instructed to provide and furnish all necessary election supplies to conduct said election. The order in which the names of the candidates are to be printed on the ballot shall be determined by a dr~wing by the City Secretary as provided by Article 6.05 c, Subd. 3.
