<br />130 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1974-l3-R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER <br />TO CONTRACT WITH THE FIRM OF BLACK AND VEATCH <br />FOR AN INVESTIGATION OF LOCAL ELECTRICAL UTILITY <br />OPERATIONS AND ELECTRICAL RATES. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos is of the opinion <br /> <br />that an investigation of local electrical utility operations and electrical <br /> <br />rates is warranted in the best interest of the citizens of San Marcos; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that this goal can best be <br /> <br />attained by securing professional assistance from consulting engineers; <br /> <br />now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />Part 1. That James B. Baugh, City Manager, or his successor, be, and is <br /> <br />hereby, authorized to enter into an agreement with the firm of Black and <br /> <br />Veatch for the purpose of retaining their services for the purpose of <br /> <br />II <br /> <br />providing assistance in the investigation of local utility operations and <br /> <br />electrical rates, provided, however, that the maximum charge for such <br /> <br />investigation shall not exceed Eight Thousand Dollars ($8,000t, and that <br /> <br />the City Manager be, and is hereby, authorized to take whatever steps necessary <br /> <br />toward this end. <br /> <br />Part 2.
