Gonzales requested a change of zoning for his restaurant business in order that he may allow the con- sumption of alcoholic beverages on premises. Mr. Gonzales be- lieves that the very existance of the business is at stake. He makes this assertion based on the following facts: After four months of o~eration Pic-A-Taco Restaurant No. 2 has produced an average of $125.00 per month as net profit. So that the picture is entirely clear Mr. Gonzales would ask the Council to consider that the obligations that must be met by revenue from the restaurant are: (1) the payment of $1~125.00 per month on the indebtedness against the ~roperty; (2) $bOO.OO per month payment of wages to employees; (3) payment of $230.00 per month for insurance for fire, liability, workman's compensation, etc.; (4) the payment per month of $250.00 for utilities. Besides the monthly obligations, Mr. Gonzales has invested in the business a sum of $22,000.00 for original first payment of the property, repairs and equipment. At best the business arising from students from the high school is a sum of $50.00 per day. Simple multiplication shows that the students could not be the basis on which the restaurant would be successful, Also in a short period school will be out for the summer reducing student clientele to zero.
