That the public welfare, health, and safety
being presently endangered due to the fact that the existing
ordinances of the City of San Marcos do not afford an adequate
and comprehensive code governing the aforementioned specifi-
cations, materials, and methods within the corporate limits of
the City of San Marcos, or its extraterritorial jurisdiction,
subject to the laws of the State of Texas, therefore, an
emergency exists, requiring the provisions of the Charter of
the City of San Marcos that ordinarily require ordinances to
be read on three (3) several days and that no ordinance shall
become effective until the expiration of ten (10) days following
the date of its final passage, be dispensed with; thus, this
Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage by
this body and its publication in a newspaper of general cir-
culation within the City of San Marcos. Such publication
shall be accomplished by a setting out in said newspaper of
the caption and the penalties for violation of said Ordinance.

I

PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 24th day of June, 1974.

/Lco~~

Dr. Emmie Craddock
Mayor

AT~ST: /

;j~;:;~

Doriss Hambrick
City Secretary

AjROVED:

~~~~
Tom Akins
City Attorney
I
I
