<br />NOTIC~TO BIDDERS
<br />
<br />Notice is hereby given that sealed bids addressed to the Mayor, City
<br />of San Marcos, Texas, will be received at the City Hall in said City
<br />until 3:00 p.m. CDT on July 17, 1974, for the construction of a City
<br />Hall for said City, and at which time the bids will be promptly read
<br />and considered and if an acceptable bid is received, a contract will
<br />be a~arded as soon thereafter as practical.
<br />
<br />_lans and specifications for same are on file with Ken Rehler Archi-
<br />'ect and Associates, Inc., Suite 180 West, 84 N.E. Loop 410, Sa,n
<br />ntonio, Texas, 78218, and at the Office of Mr. James B. Baugh, City
<br />.Ianager, City Hall, San Marcos, Texas, 78666, where same may be examined
<br />without charge.

<br />A Cashier's Or Certified Check on a bank in the State of Texas, or a
<br />bid bond from a corporate surety duly authorized to do business in
<br />Texas, payable without recourse to the City of San Marcos, Texas, in
<br />an amount of not less than five per cent (5%) of the bid, must accompany
<br />each bid as a guarantee that, if awarded the contract, the bidder will
<br />promptly enter into the contract.
<br />
<br />The sllccessful bidder receiving the award of the contract shall furnish
<br />a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the
<br />contract price, with a surety company holding a permit from the State
<br />of Texas to act as Surety, as required by Article 5l60a, Vernon's
<br />Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, 1925, as amended. The successful
<br />bidder will be required to comply with Article 5l59a, Revised Civil
<br />Statutes of Texas, 1925, as amended, commonly known as the "Prevailing
<br />Wage Law", providing for the payment of the minimum prevailing wage
<br />scale for work of a similar character in the locality in which the
<br />work is to be performed, and the prevailing wage scale in the City of
<br />San Marcos may be obtained from the City Secretary. It is the inten-
<br />tion of the City Council, City of San Marcos, Texas, of said City to
<br />lay all or part of the contract price in int.erest bearing certific.ates
<br />f obligation and details of said certificates of obligation may be
<br />btained from the same person and at the same place where plans and
<br />. specifications are available.
<br />
<br />The successful bidder will be required to accept such certificates of
<br />obligation in payment of all or a portion of the contract price and,
<br />if he so elects, to assign such certificates ~o an~ther in accordance
<br />with the provisions made by the City of San Marcos, and each bidder
<br />must specify at the time of the receipt of bids to elect whether he
<br />will accept such certificates in payment of all ~r a part of the con-
<br />tract price or to assign such certificates in accordance with arrange-
<br />ments made by the City. The City will make arrangements for the con-
<br />tractor to dispose of the certificates of obligation herein mentioned
<br />at not less than par and the contractor must agree to deliver said
<br />certificates forthwith at such price to the party with whom the City
<br />has made arrangements if he ;elects to assign said certificates.
<br />
<br />The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and
<br />to waive any and all irregularities in bids received.
<br />
<br />Given pursuant to a resolution duly adopted by the City Council.
