<br />132 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1974-46-R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, PETITIONING THE RAILROAD COMMISSION OF TEXAS TO <br />RENOUNCE INTERLOCUTORY ORDER OF SEPTEMBER, 1973, IN GAS <br />UTILITIES DOCKET #500. <br /> <br />lVREREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, is concerned about <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />the escalating gas utility and electric utility bills in San Marcos, and the <br /> <br />State in general; and, <br /> <br />\VREREAS, representatives of these utilities attribute these increases to <br /> <br />increased cost of gas; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the cause for said increased cost of gas is directly attributable to <br /> <br />the now infamous interlocutory order of September, 1973, in Gas Utilities <br /> <br />Docket #500, which nullified the contracted price of gas for customers of <br /> <br />Lo-Vaca Gathering; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TRE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. That the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, express its <br /> <br />concern for escalating gas and electrical utility bills by petitioning, and do <br /> <br />hereby, petition the Railroad Commission of Texas to vacate the Interlocutory <br /> <br />Order entered in Gas Utilit~es Docket #500 setting aside the contracted price <br /> <br /> <br />I of gas for customers of Lo-Vaca Gathering, regardless of its effect on Lo-Vaca. <br /> <br /> <br />PART 2. That because the Railroad Commission has control of the natural gas <br /> <br />industry in this State, that said Commission immediately take steps necessary <br /> <br />to begin protecting the consumers of this State, as we, the Council, believe <br /> <br />it to be so charged in doing. <br /> <br />PART 3.
