137 ORDINANCE NO. 1974 - 80 I AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THAT CERTAIN ORDINANCE WHICH ESTABLISHES THE CLASSIFICATION OF ALL POLICEMEN. AND FIREMEN, THE NUMBER OF POSITIONS OF EACH CLASSIFICATION, AND THE SALARY IN STEPS FOR EACH CLASSIFICATION, BY AMENDING THAT SECTION NUMBERED 2-31 ENTITLED "JOB CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY'" SO AS TO CHANGE THE NUMBER OF AUTHORIZED POSITIONS FOR FIRE TRAINEE AND FIREFIGHTER FROM 24 Il'I NUMBER TO 23 IN NUMBER. WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos, Texas has previously passed on ~irst reading an ordinance establishing the classification of all policemen and firemen, the number of positions of each classification, and the salary in steps for each classification; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos now wishes to reduce the number of authorized fire trainees and firefighters from 24 to 23 in number; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY CODNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That that certain ordinance establishing the classification of all I policemen and firemen, the number of positions of each classification, and the salary in steps for each classification numbered Section 2-31, and entitled "Job Classification and Salary' be, and is hereby, in all things amended so as to change the number of authorized positions in the classification of fire trainee and firefighter from 24 to 23 in number. SECTION 2. That this ordinance shall take e~fect ten (10) days from and after its final passage. PASSED AND APPROVED on first reading November 25, 1974.
